SHARE MY LIFE

Quay Austin and Tonia Sharp first met on April 11, 2011. This day is very significant to Quay, because it was his first day on a new job at WSMV in Nashville, Tennessee. He had just become one of the new broadcasting engineers and Tonia was the head of the Graphic Department. They were introduced by a coworker in a hallway upstairs in front of the old production edit bays. He recalls the location, because he was struck by how gorgeous she was, and thought to himself, “Wow, what a gorgeous woman.” While outwardly maintaining his professional decorum, he didn't allow her beauty to get the better of him, while thinking back, he still remembers the outfit wore and how her hair was beautifully done…SMH. Unfortunately due to her dedication as a committed employee, Tonia recalled the incident as an insignificant introduction to yet another new employee that paled in her memory at the time. As months went by, he finally summoned up the courage to ask her out, but sadly she turned him down over, and over, and over again. Surprisingly three weeks later, she called him up and to his utter astonishment, they agreed to go out on their first date, which has led them into many adventures.

Although Tonia and Quay had talked many times about the possibility of marriage, it was always "the possibility." On a trip to New Jersey for Quay's High School reunion, they had the most marvelous time together and, while visiting Tonia's sister Nakia and her family, Quay felted moved to ask Tonia to marry him, and she accepted. With no preamble or formalities and...no RING, Quay felt on top of the world. However, Tonia thought it was just another fantasy in his own mind, so she didn't give it a second thought. While considering the gravity of his proposal, Quay felt sad that he hadn't properly prepare or honored Tonia by not presenting her with a ring. You see that one of the reason why Quay loves Tonia so much is because, she is probably the humblest, most unpretentious person he has ever met. For that reason, Quay didn't ever want her to be deprived of any blessings this life has to offer. So on Christmas Day, on her parent's front porch in Lexington, Tennessee, Quay presented Tonia Sharp with a ring and formally asked her to become his wife, and by her state of surprise, she proudly said yes.
