Hannah and Tommy met while he was in Virginia for a shooting competition. After matching on hinge, they set up a last-minute date for dinner. Dinner turned into ice cream, and ice cream turned into an indoor trampoline park. After several hours of good food, conversation and fun, they decided that they had something worth pursuing, and numbers were exchanged. The next 10 months consisted of weekend dates in 5 different states (Virginia, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina and North Carolina) and two week-long visits that Hannah was able to arrange while Tommy was deployed. It was not easy, but it gave them lots of time to talk about the important things, and discover how compatible they really are. They figured that if their budding relationship could survive the long distance with only short visits interspersed, then their marriage could survive anything that the military may throw at them. They started to discuss the prospect of marriage in November, went ring shopping over Christmas/New Year's, and Tommy proposed the next time he saw Hannah in early March. At the end of January, Tommy and Hannah began to discuss the idea of getting married in the spring, instead of waiting for the October wedding date that they’d previously discussed. After seeking advice from friends and family, they decided to take the leap, and were married in the Friendship Chapel, Shaw Air Force Base on 17 March 2026.
