Tommy and I (Giuliana) are high school sweethearts, where we met our sophomore year back when we were 16 years old. Of course being so young the start of our relationship was by text message and having the same PE class, and we didn’t expect much from it… but here we are today. Despite all odds, through the ups and downs of life, we made it to the year where we’ll finally share the same last name. We grew up together, and experienced every milestone together. From meeting each other in the hallways between classes, our first kiss in Coronado, celebrating getting our licenses, graduating high school, to traveling with one another, and going long distance while I was in college and Tommy was in the military. We fell in love and became best friends, navigating life together, knowing we wanted each other by our sides every step of the way, no matter what we had to go through, we chose each other. We grew up and learned how to love together, and with lots of patience and forgiveness, leaning on one another through the hard times… we put each other first and are continuously working to build a life we’ll be proud of! We are finally living out the future we always talked about. And we are so excited to celebrate our special day with the people we love most.
It was a beautiful warm and sunny day in November, and it was also Tommy’s last day in town while he was visiting for the holiday’s. He decided to take me to my favorite brunch spot “Palmy’s” in Pacific Beach and after we ate and enjoyed a yummy iced coffee, he suggested we take a walk to my favorite beach “Tourmaline”. We spent the day walking on the beach, looking for sea shells and sand dollars, and just enjoying one another’s company. After an hour or so, he started walking along the rocks towards the tide pools to go somewhere more secluded and at this point my heart is racing because I could tell he seemed a little nervous (which if you know Tommy, you know he is always nonchalant and worry free). As we made our way to the tide pools, he guided me to sit on this rock next to him, and that’s when he asked me if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, and make him the happiest man on Earth. Saying YES was the easiest decision I ever made because I have been in love with him since we were 16 years old.
