We Have No Idea How We Didn't Meet Sooner!

Years of walking right passed each other led to this...

We both grew up in the same small town of Thomaston living but a block away from each other and some how never met. While Tommy went to the Thomaston public schools, I hopped around from Catholic middle school in Bristol to a magnet high school in Waterbury. But that did not stop God's plan. In college, I joined our Church's choir and mystified Tommy by my voice... lol ...well maybe Tommy doesn't remember it as that dramatic, but nonetheless, he had to introduce himself to me. It was an instant connection and we have been INSEPARABLE ever since.

The Proposal

Needless to say, we did not go to the bourbon tasting....

In the last week of October, Tommy called me in excitement to let me know that his mom got us free tickets to go to a bourbon tasting at Litchfield Distillery on November 7. The day came and I suspected something was fishy at Tommy's apparent anxiety for the entire day. As we're driving to the distillery, he gets a phone call from his mom apologizing that we mixed up the dates and the bourbon tasting is actually scheduled for the weekend after. I was so bummed! So, to not waste a nice winter evening, he offered us to grab coffee on the Green in Litchfield. When we got there, we agreed that the night was too nice not to take a walk under the street lamps in the beautiful center of Litchfield. As we walked, I noticed Tommy holding something in his pocket... I started to suspect what was up but didn't ruin his surprise. Before long, he stopped suddenly behind me. As I turned around, there he was, on his knee, with something really sparkly in a little box and said, "Em, will you marry me?" We can now forever go to the center of Litchfield, to that little spot under the street lamp and remember the greatest moment of our lives.
