When Does the Shuttle Run?

Pre Ceremony Shuttle - 4:00 - 5:00pm 3:45 pm- Safeway (North Side of Building) *You can park and leave your cars here! 3:45 pm- Salida Hotel 3:50 pm- Amigo Motor Lodge 4:15 pm- Safeway *You can park and leave your cars here! 4:15 pm- Riverside Hacienda 4:40 pm- Safeway *You can park and leave your cars here! 4:40 pm- Riverside Park End of Night Shuttle- 9:00pm - 11:00pm *Groups that are lodging together please plan on getting a ride together at the end of the night. One Vehicle from 9-10 pm 2 vehicles from 10-11 pm (Everyone must be out of Hutchinson Ranch by 11 pm.)

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love kids and especially all of our friends' kids. As much as we would like to invite all the children of our friends, due to cost restrictions, it is only possible to accommodate the children of close family at the wedding and reception. We look forward to sharing our day with our close friends/family and when your kids get older and wonder why they did not come to Colorado for a wedding, you can blame it on us. No hard feelings kids! (Obviously, exceptions made for newborn babies.)

What is Hutchinson Ranch?

Answer

A real, working cattle ranch established in 1868 by pioneers Joseph Sykes Hutchinson and Annabel McPherson. Joseph was a Union Army Captain who also served as a representative in the Colorado Territorial Legislature, and Annabel was a strong matriarch who raised four sons and continued to run the ranch after Joseph’s early demise at the age of 42. Six generations later, the Hutchinsons are still raising cattle on the same land surrounding the Homestead. The 150-year old buildings of the original ranch have been preserved and transformed into a Learning Center across the street from the Wedding site: https://www.hutchinsonhomestead.org/

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No dress code, but feel free to go in on the theme of "mountain chic." The most important thing to know is that you'll be walking on uneven pasture or gravel, so wear shoes that won't break your ankle. Boots, flats or wedges would be great. Also, it can get down into the 50's at night, so be sure to bring a jacket or sweater!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is a big parking lot at Hutchinson Ranch. However, we hope you will take advantage of our shuttle to and from the Ranch if you plan to cut loose.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! There will be a shuttle to and from the ranch. There will be a pickup spot in downtown Salida and at the hotels along highway 50. We'll provide more detailed information about two weeks before the wedding, but please let us know if you are interested in using it so we have a good headcount!
