Cate and Tommy’s story started long before they realized it. Growing up in Lancaster County, their paths first crossed in 6th grade—and continued to cross in small, almost-forgotten ways over the years. But the way their story really begins feels a little more like fate. Years later, both of their moms happened to run into each other at the hospital where they work. In conversation, Tommy’s mom mentioned he was moving out to Colorado. The moment Cate’s mom shared the news, Cate didn’t hesitate—she sent Tommy a DM on Instagram asking if he’d want to meet up once he got to Denver. One casual beer at Ratio Brewing turned into an instant connection and the start of something neither of them saw coming. From there, life quickly became shared—from camping trips across Colorado to birthday trips from Santa Cruz to Orlando. Along the way, they’ve also explored the world together, traveling to Croatia, Thailand, and even taking a spontaneous trip to Montenegro. Looking back, it’s hard not to feel like their story was years in the making—full of near-misses, small moments, and just the right timing that finally brought them together.
