Tomio and Ellie met on a dark night in downtown Oakland in 2017. They hung out with the same people and would see each other from time to time. After a few months, Tomio decided to strike up a conversation with Ellie. Even if they were just friends, that would be enough. Ellie immediately noticed that Tomio seemed to really listen, and she felt like she could be honest and herself with him. After some group hang outs, he asked her out on a date. A few weeks later... April 19, 2018 was the day Tomio took Ellie on a lunch date to Hot Sauce & Panko near Ina Coolbirth park in San Francisco. There, he asked Ellie what she would say if he ever asked her to be his girlfriend (real conversation). Ellie replied that he should ask her and find out. Cut to six years later at the same park, where Tomio proposed and Ellie said yes!
