Zoe and Tomás met while in their freshman year in college at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Guided by God's hand, they quickly grew close after working on a class project together, and on January 26, 2019, went ice skating in Tower City, Cleveland for their first date. While at Case Western, they grew closer, exploring Cleveland, joining the same student organizations, and studying together. After college, Zoe moved to Arlington, following Tomás, who moved to nearby Falls Church one year earlier. Zoe said 'yes' at Sky Meadows State Park in Virginia on October 29, 2024.
