What is the dress code for the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

The dress code is beach casual and shoes are optional. Opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. Nice, short-sleeved shirts such as polos are permitted, as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt. Lighter colors and/or bold prints will elevate your casual look. Avoid denim, cargo, swim shorts, and cotton t-shirts.

Yes! All food and water is completely safe to ingest. No need to worry about what hotel or restaurant you're enjoying, the entire island has potable tap water and high food safety standards!

No! The island is small and known to be One Happy Island -- there is no area that you would be in danger.

Do American cell phones work in Aruba?

Answer

US cellphones will work in Aruba. However please keep in mind that if you retain your own US SIM card you may incur considerable roaming fees from your US cellphone company, you should call to see if they offer coverage in Aruba and what it would cost. There are no area codes in Aruba, so just dial the phone number directly without any prefixes. To call the United States from Aruba dial "00" (international prefix to dial outside of Aruba), then dial "1" (international code for the U.S.). and then the area code and phone number you wish to connect to.

Aruba weather is tropical but not extreme, with a median temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius). Rain tends to be erratic and come in short-lived showers. Aruba lies outside of the hurricane belt.

Aruba's Time zone is GMT -04:00 (Caracas, La Paz) without daylight savings. Florida is GMT -05:00 so that would make Florida 1 hour behind our time, depending on daylight savings in your zone.

Answer

The official local currency is the Aruban Guilder (AWG), fixed to the US dollar at approximately 1.80 AWG to 1 US dollar. US dollars and US credit cards are accepted throughout the Island. Local currency and US dollar ATM machines are situated all over the island.

Can I get an Uber or Lyft in Aruba?

Answer

No! Aruba does not have Uber or Lyft (or any other rideshare service). Taxis are readily available throughout the island. Taxis in Aruba do not have meters since rates are based on destination rather than mileage, and are set by the Aruba Department of Public Traffic. All prices are per taxi not per person. (maximum five passengers allowed). If you plan on exploring the island or trying restaurants in the evening, renting a car is the best suggestion. Parking is readily available and driving around the island is simple.
