He messaged me at 3 am on Tinder (sus), and luckily I had passed out from drinking with my friend already. I woke up the next morning and answered him, and the rest is history. But seriously, we talked non-stop for a few days and even exchanged the old "I'm not really looking for anything serious" line. Next thing we knew, we were wandering through a museum and laughing over bites of barbecue.

Two of the best commonalities that we share are our love of food and our fondness of Louisville. Throughout the hellacious year that has been 2020, we often sat on the couch and scrolled through pages and pages of Yelp reviews of restaurants we hoped to try. We landed on Repeal, an incredibly lovely steakhouse in our favorite city, and pinned it for later. Well, later came and on a perfectly planned date night he popped the question. Bonus points for doing it *after* I was full of crab cakes and baked macaroni & cheese- my happiest state.
