We met at a brewery we both worked at, simple as that, but it wasn't until a few years later, at a friends outdoor bonfire in January, that we truly met and got to know each-other.
About 6 months into our relationship, we found ourselves at one of the hottest Irish Fair's imaginable. Trying to beat the heat we sat under a tree close to the river. We noticed an Irish wedding procession happening, which was beautiful, but in order for them to get to the pavilion to finish their ceremony, they had to walk through a row of porta potties. Tom turns to me and says, "When we get married, that won't happen" My response? "When WE get MARRIED?" Which didn't garner a reply from Tom who had pretended to not hear my question. Two years later, at the Irish Fair, Tom took me over to the river on Harriet Island, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife. My response? "Absolutely." Unbeknownst to us, a vendor of the fair had seen what was happening and took some pictures of the entire thing. Now we have those pictures to hold onto forever.
