We have booked a block of rooms at two different hotels. Additional details are included under the "ACCOMMODATIONS" tab. We recommend staying in downtown Charleston: King Street is a great place of reference that has lots of shopping and eating and very walkable. We recommend booking early as you can!
The dress code for our wedding is black tie optional: formal for men, floor length or midi formal dresses for the ladies. [ the bridesmaids will be in yellow ] Our welcome party attire is cocktail and will be outdoors.
Yes, there will be a 2-hour gap between the ceremony & cocktail hour/reception. We will provide guests with a suggested itinerary on how to fill the time – including exploring King Street bars! Once it's that time... guests can walk, Uber, or park at the Gadsden House.
CEREMONY: You are welcome to use the Cathedral parking lot for the duration of the ceremony. Vehicles must be removed from the lot after the wedding. RECEPTION: Please use the address 38 Alexander Street to easily access parking and enter the venue safely. There are plenty of metered parking spaces that accept both cards + change, as well as a few private parking spaces reserved. You will see a gate with greenery accessible by these private parking spaces.
While we adore all of the children in our lives, our wedding reception will be an adults-only affair. We hope that our wedding will provide an opportunity for our guests to relax and take a night off from parenting duties - thank you for understanding.
Parking can be tricky in downtown. We would recommend staying near King Street - everything is walkable or ubers are available. However, if you are staying or exploring Mt. Pleasant or Sullivans Island ubers can be more difficult to find- in that case you may prefer to have a car.
