For a more adventurous outing, look no further. Drive 30 minutes out of Alexandria, park and walk to a beautiful waterfall overlook! A day pass is usually $10-20. If you REALLY want to send it, there are trails to climb down the rocks for an ice bath in the Potomac! (This is both dangerous and illegal).
