It all began on a Saturday evening in 2006. Tom came down from his office to grab dinner at City Tavern, where Keisha was bartending. What started as a simple meal quickly turned into hours of easy conversation and instant chemistry. It was a slow night, Tom had nowhere he needed to be, and neither of them wanted the moment to end. By the time the evening wrapped up, Tom had skipped his plans altogether and stayed to help Keisha close the restaurant. Just like that, their love story began. From that night on, they created a rhythm of Panera lunch dates, dinners at Sullivan’s, and countless Sunday Fundays cheering on the Panthers and the Cubbies. Six beautiful years were filled with laughter, love, and building a warm home together. Then came one of life’s hardest crossroads: Tom was offered a job in Chicago. It was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up, and in 2012, they made the incredibly difficult decision to go their separate ways. Even then, their bond never faded. They remained each other’s biggest supporters and closest friends. Soon after, Keisha had her own once-in-a-lifetime moment—moving to her dream city, New York. In 2013, NYC welcomed her with open arms, and Tom was right there cheering her on, visiting often and standing by her through every high and low. Before long, he realized something important: he needed to be in New York too. After all, the city was amazing… and even better with Keisha in it. A year later, the universe stepped in. Tom landed an interview in NYC, and just like that, their paths aligned again. Back in the same city, their lives were busy and the grind was real, but they both knew their time would come. And when it did, it felt as if no time had passed at all—like picking up right where they left off, with even deeper love and understanding. Now rooted in New York City, they’re coming full circle—returning to where it all began to celebrate the spark that started it all and the beautiful journey that brought them here.
