During the spring semester of 2013, we both took Dr. Armada's Rhetorical Criticism class and shared a shift as tour guides for the St. Thomas Admissions Office. Keeley hoped their growing friendship would turn them into partners for a group project, but apparently the universe had different plans. We started officially dating in May 2013.
Tom proposed to Keeley on a snowy February day in 2019. Keeley thought they were meeting friends for dinner at Sweeney's and was confused when Tom stopped to ponder a Little Free Library on their walk to the restaurant. When he handed her a book titled, "How to Propose Without Screwing It Up," she thought it was funny (and kind of hoped he'd take it home!). When he got down on one knee and pulled a ring out of his pocket, Keeley repeatedly asked if it was a joke before saying yes. Their friend Theresa was nearby to take photos, and then they headed to W. A. Frost for dinner, where two glasses of champagne were waiting.
