July is peak season in Florence, so we recommend booking as early as possible for the best rates and availability.
The dress code is Italian Garden Formal. Guests are invited to wear formal attire suitable for a summer evening in Italy. Floral prints and colorful attire are encouraged. For women, think long gowns or elegant midi dresses in breathable fabrics, with block heels or dressy flats recommended for the garden. Please avoid stilettos. For men, lightweight suits for warm weather; ties and bowties are welcome but not required.
We will provide shuttles to the villa departing from Piazza de' Frescobaldi and Fortezza da Basso. Please let us know when you RSVP if you plan to take one of the shuttles. We’ll share exact pick-up times closer to the wedding date. If you prefer, you may also arrange your own taxi to the villa, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from central Florence. A taxi concierge will be on hand at the villa later in the evening to assist with calling taxis back to central Florence.
While we love your little ones, due to venue capacity we are only able to accommodate the children of our immediate family. Invitations and RSVPs will list the names of those invited. If your children's names are not included, we kindly ask that this be an adults-only celebration.
The Florence airport is very close to the city center. You have several options: • Taxi: The most convenient option. The total cost is approximately €30–45, depending on the time of day, number of passengers, and amount of luggage. Travel time is around 15–20 minutes. • Tram (Line T2): Runs every 5–10 minutes and takes about 20 minutes to reach Santa Maria Novella train station in the city center. Tickets cost around €1.50–€1.70.
Florence is a very walkable city, and most major attractions are within 20 minutes on foot. For longer distances, you can use the AppTaxi app to book a taxi or simply ask your hotel front desk to call a taxi for you. You can also contact taxi services directly: CO.TA.FI: +39 055 4390 or +39 055 4499 SOCOTA: +39 055 4798 or +39 055 4242 Uber does operate in Florence, but it’s limited to premium services like Uber Black, which can be more expensive and less readily available than in other cities. For most trips, it’s easier to use local taxis instead.
While credit cards are widely accepted, we recommend carrying some euros for taxis, small cafés, tips, and the nightly city tax, which is typically paid in cash at hotels and Airbnbs.

No — it’s easier to explore on foot or by taxi. If you plan to visit nearby Tuscan towns you can rent a car for a day trip, but parking in central Florence is limited.
If you’d like to explore more after the wedding, Tuscany offers charming towns like Chianti, Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, and Pisa. For a coastal escape, the Amalfi Coast is stunning, with popular spots such as Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. You could also head north to the Italian Lakes such as Como, Garda, and Maggiore, for breathtaking scenery and relaxation.
