If you have children and/or would like to help participate with the Kids Craft Corner and creating decorations, you can arrive at 4pm. If you are not planning to attend that, feel free to show up at 5:30pm and grab a drink (open bar, yay!) and mingle before we start the ceremony at 6pm.
Yes! We are planning to do arts and crafts from 4-5:30pm if they'd like to attend and participate. Please note that we will ask kids to head back to the Art Gallery room after 8:30pm because that's when the less kid-friendly music will start.
Absolutely not! Please dress comfortably more than anything else. Kaftan? Wedding dress? Whatever strikes your fancy.
The venue recommends the First Street Parking Lot, a municipal parking garage at the corner of First Street and Spring Street.
The Lechmere stop on the Green Line is less than 500ft away from the venue.
Dinner is going to be an assortment of pizzas and salads, served after the ceremony. We are not doing a plated dinner with seats, it'll be more of a grab-and-go set up with a few tables and high tops.
We will have a variety of pizzas, including vegetarian and vegan options. If you have any other food restriction or allergy that we need to be aware of, please email Tom (thomas.j.love@gmail.com) and/or Gary (gryan@mit.edu) directly so we can make a note of it.
For dessert, friends and family are gracing us with a collection of homemade baked goods for the Cookie Table. It's a Pittsburgh tradition that we're bringing to Massachusetts. If you'd like to participate and make cookies for this, please let Tom or Gary know and we can get you additional info!
After dinner, we will have our friend and professional DJ Michael "Sparky" Phillips playing the best songs to get y'all on the dance floor and shaking those butts! We will also have a limited time for some karaoke since we have some talented friends who can really bring it. All requests for karaoke are being taken in advance, so if you're interested in participating please fill out the Google Doc below so we can be properly prepared for your song: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd4EYVdAEhYPjehR2sgBJw1LF3gB3t7AB7ZZjxR5LZdxaM7Vg/viewform
We ask that everyone please take an at-home Covid test the day of the event in order for us to be able to comfortably and confidently celebrate together.
Your presence is presents enough! And we already have too much stuff. But, if you feel overly compelled, below are links to donate to some charities we value, or you can give towards our honeymoon fund. https://give.thetrevorproject.org/give/330001#!/donation/checkout https://action.aclu.org/give/make-gift-aclu-honor-someone-special https://www.plannedparenthood.org/get-involved/other-ways-give https://www.zola.com/registry/tomandgary
