Our Story

Tom and I met in 2022 when we both made the right decision to swipe right on Bumble. Emma was back for the summer between her 2nd and 3rd year of her undergrad in Toronto. We spent the summer together and enjoyed every moment. Switching to long distance during the school year for the 2 years was an easy decision for us, though not easy in reality in the slightest. Lots of phone calls, texts, and bus rides to visit ensued. But in the end it was all worth it!

What was our first date?

~

Our first date lasted about 8 hours— crazy I know. We went to watch the new Spiderman Movie, went to dinner, had lovely stroll through Walmart (it was freezing outside), then talked for a couple more hours at Tim Hortons. Despite Tom getting a burger with an egg on it (Emma hates eggs), and Emma not being able to stop talking (Tom still can't get a word in edgewise), neither of us wanted the night to end.

Our favourite things to do...

~

Tom and I love to be outdoors, whether that be at the cottage, camping, at the farm, or out for a skate. When we aren't doing that we are probably playing a sport or spending time with family.

Who wears the pants?

~

Tom likes to think he's in charge, but let's be real we all know Emma is the boss. (Tom still disagrees).

Best thing about the Bride.

We would love to go to Europe one day!

Teams we've endured together

~

If you know us, you know Tom and I are overly competitive. We've somehow managed to play on many different teams together without bickering too much. It's a miracle our teammates keep asking us back. Over the past 3 years, we've played on a handful of teams, including volleyball, slow pitch, and curling.

Sens Games we've survived

~

Tom is an avid Ottawa Senators fans. Avid might be underselling it. He's probably the biggest fan you've ever met. With a lot of ridiculous superstitions. Like for example, if we are Em's parents house he needs to watch the game on the upstairs tv... the one downstairs is bad luck. Together we have gone to countless games, watched some great moments, and had plenty of conversations that his mood should not be dependent on how the Sens perform...
