FAQs

The Wedding Website of Emily Rebecca Hainsworth and Thomas James Mitchell
Question

How long will it take to get from the church to the venue?

Answer

We’re so grateful you’ll be joining us to celebrate our wedding. The ceremony will take place at our local church in Ashby-De-La-Zouch (LE65 1AA)—a place that we envision will lead to everlasting memories. After the service, we’ll be heading to our reception venue, West Mill in Darley Abbey (DE22 1DZ). We know it’s a little journey, around 30 minutes by car, and we truly appreciate you making the trip. We’ve fallen in love with the West Mill, and we couldn’t imagine celebrating anywhere else. Thank you for being part of this special day!

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we adore little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. The only children attending are those who have been personally invited by us—limited to immediate family. We hope this allows all guests to relax and enjoy the day fully. Thank you for understanding and helping us create the atmosphere we’ve envisioned.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress in smart attire for our wedding day. While there’s no set colour scheme or formal dress code, we’d love everyone to embrace the occasion with outfits that feel polished and celebratory. Whether that’s a suit, a dress, or something stylish that makes you feel your best, we simply want you to feel comfortable while honouring the spirit of the day.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our celebration will include a blend of both indoor and outdoor elements. Weather permitting, we’ll begin in a spacious courtyard beside the river—a setting we love for its natural beauty and relaxed elegance. It’s ideal for mingling, sipping drinks, and soaking in the atmosphere. For the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, we’ll move indoors to a beautifully refurbished cotton mill. With its exposed brickwork, antique features, and timeless character, it offers the perfect backdrop for dining, dancing, and raising a glass. The space is warm, atmospheric, and steeped in history—just the kind of place we dreamed of sharing with you. And should the weather turn, we have a thoughtful indoor plan for the entire day (though we’re hoping the skies stay kind!).

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

For those joining us on our wedding day, here’s a quick guide to parking. Near the church in Ashby-De-La-Zouch, you’ll find on-street parking within a five-minute walk on Upper Packington Road, Leicester Road, and Warner Road. Alternatively, South Street long-stay car park (LE65 1BF) is also just a short walk away. At our reception venue, West Mill in Darley Abbey, there is dedicated parking available. Should this fill up, there’s additional on-street parking nearby to ensure everyone can arrive comfortably.

Question

Should we eat before the wedding celebrations begin?

Answer

We recommend starting the day with a hearty breakfast, as the first food service will be later in the afternoon. Canapés will be available between 2.30 and 3.30pm, followed by our three‑course wedding breakfast at 4.30pm. To keep everyone going into the evening celebrations, additional food will be served at around 9pm to make sure that everyone is fuelled for non-stop dancing!
