Emily has known Elizabeth her whole life! As cousins and best friends they have always been inseparable. Elizabeth currently lives in Buffalo, New York and is a Registered Nurse on a surgical floor in one of the local hospitals.

Grace DeRoo

Emily has known Grace since 2001, when Grace was born! Together the sisters love to play French horn, play board games, listen to show tunes, and watch guilty pleasure-type shows. Grace is currently a student at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York and is getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood and Special Education.

Christie Citranglo

Emily met Christie at College Orientation at Ithaca College! From there they were roommates Freshman year and studying abroad in London and they’ve remained close friends ever since! Christie currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland and is an Editor and Journalist.

Kelsey O’Keefe

Emily met Kelsey while studying abroad in London when Kelsey joined her flat as a roommate! Since then they’ve remained close friends. Kelsey currently lives in Maryland and is a Physical Therapist.

Robin Steinthal

Emily met Robin in 2018 when Emily started working at the same staffing agency Robin was working at! Their shared love of musicals and shared experiences within the entertainment industry led to a fast friendship that has grown stronger even after they both moved on to different companies. Robin currently works as the Director of Talent Acquisition at a well known advertising agency and lives in New York City.

Will DeRoo

Man of Honor (US)

Emily has known Will since 1998, when Will was born! Together the siblings love to watch TV shows and play board games. Tom and Will met in 2015, and are excited to be brothers-in-law! Will recently graduated with his Master’s Degree in Education from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and is now teaching 9th and 10th grade Social Studies at a high school in the Rochester City School District. He will be joining Tom’s wedding party for our US wedding.

Sarah Doré

Best Woman (US and UK)

Sarah and Tom met at the matriculation dinner at St John’s College in Tom’s second year and Sarah’s first. They became fast friends and eventually became college “spouses” to look after a group of new incoming students. Sarah currently lives in London where she has recently begun a career in corporate law.

Sam Thompson

Best Man (UK)

Sam and Tom met as undergraduates at Cambridge where they both studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic studies and lived in St. John’s College. They bonded over a shared interest in metal music and comparative mythology. Sam currently works for the Fulbright Commission and lives in Kent.

Dan Johnson

Groomsman (US)

Dan and Tom met in 2016 at a family party where Emily first introduced Tom to her extended family! Since then Dan has welcomed Tom into the family and has converted him into a fan of the Buffalo Bills. Dan is currently working as a Social Studies teacher at a local school in the Buffalo area, where he is also a faculty club advisor for numerous clubs at the school. He also sings in the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus

Holly Bee

Groomswoman (UK)

Holly and Tom also met as undergraduates at Cambridge where Holly also studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic. They bonded over mutual love of all things Anglo-Saxon and forbearance of Sam’s taste for puns. Holly currently lives in Kent and works in the museum sector while also pursuing a PhD in museum studies.

Ella Watts

Ella and Tom met as undergraduates at Cambridge as Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic students. Ella’s hosting of regular Gravity Falls nights and friendship through good and bad times were always invaluable. She currently lives in London and works as a podcast producer for the BBC.

Thais Rocha de Silva

Groomswoman (UK)

Tom and Thais met at Oxford when she was beginning her PhD in Egyptology and he was starting his MsT in ecclesiastical history. Together they helped organise and unite the small group of postgraduates at St Benet’s Hall, all while becoming friends over formal dinners, beer, and G&D’s ice cream. Thais currently lives in São Paulo, Brazil, where she is pursuing post-doctoral work in Egyptology.
