Emily first noticed Tom at St. Al's Wednesday night Mass and Adoration. He was the handsome man in the suit, always sitting in the righthand pew. While Tom first noticed Emily at 5pm Sunday mass. She was the sleepy gal in scrubs, rolling in and then quickly heading out to make it to another night shift. It took a few months until the dashing guy and the tired girl were finally introduced. Tom, in his outgoingness, introduced himself to Emily at the Young Adult Ministry fall kickoff event (essentially a big party in the parking lot). Unbeknownst to them, that was the start of it all. Ultimately, it was at the Parish's Oktoberfest that something more came of their meeting. After a fun night of conversations, story swapping, and beer drinking, Tom asked Emily out to dinner, to which she readily agreed. On an ordinary Monday night they had their first date, and from that dinner on they've proven to be the perfect pair.

Tom suggested they spend a low-key Saturday morning brunching at 3 Arts Club Café, a popular and unique spot nestled inside of a home goods store called Restoration Hardware. And Emily was happy to oblige. They planned first to meet at morning mass at St. Al's, as they had made a habit of doing throughout their relationship. Following mass, Tom claimed that Fr. Mike needed their thoughts on the changes he had made to the rooftop of the Church. Emily, being her unsuspecting self, and curious to see this cool rooftop that she had only ever heard about, easily agreed to make the climb up there. Not long after arriving on the roof, which fittingly overlooked the spot where they first met, and after marveling at the beautiful skyline view, Tom turned Emily toward himself, got down on one knee, and lovingly asked her the best question ever… WILL YOU MARRY ME? Emily, surprised but so ecstatic, answered easily and whole heartedly with a resounding YES!
