Chris and Tom met through Bumble in February of 2016. Their first date took place at a small restaurant in Chicago. Armed only with the pictures uploaded to the app, they arrived to the restaurant and looked for one another. Tom stood at the bar regretting all the pictures of Zac Efron he uploaded to his profile, while Chris sat at a table waiting to meet a hunky, yet relatable celebrity. Luckily, what she got was so much better (in this author’s unbiased opinion). Tom was semi-unemployed; making his ends meet through walking dogs and working at a soup kitchen. Chris was a hard-working and successful Woman In Finance™. Despite this difference, their conversation flowed naturally and they had much in common. Before they knew it, the restaurant was closing for the night. Chris ignored the napkin their waiter handed her reading, “Blink twice if you are being held hostage,” and the two agreed to meet again. And then again, and again, and so forth. These dates became more frequent and after two months of this they were ready to say, “I love you.” Since then, their families and friends have intertwined into one large and wonderful group, which you- the reader- is a part. Now, four years later, Chris and Tom have one more expression of love before they spend a lifetime together. Both cannot wait for this joyous marriage and hope to see you there for the celebration.
