On his way from picking up a space heater in Superior, Tom asked Brenna’s roommate if he could stop by their house with his dog. Tom had known Brenna’s roommate since elementary school. That Friday night, Brenna had decided to stay in and get a head start on studying for one of her nursing classes. She was messily put together- already changed in sweats & sweatshirt. Tom arrived with his crazy & energetic dog and they got to talking. From the getco, Brenna admired that Tom was the oldest of 8 kids. He was from an even bigger family than her! Once it was time for Tom to make his 1.5 hour drive back up north, Tom had been told multiple times to come back to Duluth anytime. Two days later, Tom asked for Brenna’s number. They talked all day everyday for the next week. Tom kept impressing Brenna; such as how he would stay up late just to hear how Brenna’s nursing clinicals in the hospital went and what crazy things she saw/learned. Tom & Brenna effortlessly connected through their similar personalities and backgrounds.

Tom had asked Brenna on their first date- to go hiking at Amnicon Falls. Brenna felt bummed beacuse she was supposed to leave for a camping trip that weekend. As luck would have it, the camping trip was cancelled because of heavy rain & not enough students had signed up for it. Brenna had never been happier for something to get cancelled! Their first date was a go!!! Saturday had come soon enough & they both couldn’t wait! Tom picked Brenna up for their date and within 5 minutes of being in the truck, Tom asked what Brenna’s plans were for church the next day. Brenna was surprised & impressed by that. Brenna responded with that she would probably go to morning mass by herself. Tom then offered for them to go to church together. Brenna was all for that & agreed to make the drive up the following morning! Just like that they had their second date planned before the first one had really began! Throughout the drive and eventually their hike, they were struck with how easy it was to talk with each other. Brenna even told Tom “I feel like I’ve known you for years”- (which later to come find out) had freaked Tom out because he felt the same way ☺️ Their first date began as a couple of individuals and ended as a couple! Soon they get to spend the rest of their days together & they couldnt be happier!!!❤️❤️
