Athens Recommendations

There are so many amazing places to see, eat and drink and we would love it for you to all experience what Athens has to offer!! Here are a few places that we have personally been to or have been highly recommended. Enjoy xx
Acropolis

Acropolis

The Acropolis, an ancient citadel located in the heart of Athens, is one of the most famous and iconic archeological sites in the world. Built in the 5th century BC, during the Golden Era of the Athenian Empire, the Acropolis was the religious and political center of Athens. Whilst there, you can also visit the Parthenon and Acropolis museum.

Plaka

Plaka

Athens, Greece

Plaka’s picturesque streets, historic landmarks and lively shops make it a must-see area to visit in Athens. Plaka is located at the base of the Acropolis and is about a 7 minute walk from Monastiraki give or take. You can walk to Plaka from the center of Athens, following Ermou Street, the city's most famous commercial street.

Monastiraki Square

Monastiraki Square

Pl. Monastirakiou 10, Athens, 105 55, Greece

Monastiraki is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens, located at the heart of the city, it is known for iconic landmarks and a large array of shops. The surrounding streets are also crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views so this makes for a really nice afternoon out of the sun.

Lake Vouliagmeni

Lake Vouliagmeni

Poseidonos Av., Athens Riviera, 166 71, Greece
, +30 210 89 62 237

Lake Vouliagmeni is a natural spa that's fed by underground thermal springs and seawater. The lake is known for its healing properties, water temperatures that range from 22°C to 29°C throughout the year and tiny little Garra Ruffa fish known as ‘spa fish’ that will tickle your toes… The lake is surrounded by beach chairs and umbrellas as well as a cafe-bar-restaurant. Note: You do need to purchase tickets to enter and we would recommend doing this online before arriving. The earlier / more in advance the better as spaces go really quick.
