Sixteen and Summertime. Veronica thinks they met in a garage in St. Paul, Tommy claims it was at one of her soccer games. One thing we do know for sure: they were young and NOT in love. Tommy's main focus was football and Veronica didn't have time for boys that only tweeted about ESPN and politics. Fast forward to 4 years later and that all changed. Tommy had just transferred to the University of Minnesota and their mutual friend brought him over to Veronica's apartment to remind him that he did have friends in the other Twin City, despite Tommy's dislike for Minneapolis. Over the next year, Veronica and Tommy became very good friends. Long study nights, mass at the Newman center, dinners in Dinkytown, sorority and fraternity events, and most importantly, late nights at the favorite St. Paul spot, Plums Neighborhood Bar and Grill. They were always together, but were they dating?? No no, they were "JUST FRIENDS". Until one night at Plums... Tommy decided it was time to venture out of the friend zone. After many months of convincing Veronica that dating wouldn't ruin their friendship, the two love birds decided to give it a shot. "Just give me one week, and if we feel good about it, we just keep living and see where life takes us." Since then they've graduated college, started new jobs, traveled near and far, adopted a puppy, and continue to take on each Adventure Day with positive spirits and love for each other. It started with one week that turned into 5 years. And now they're ready for those 5 years to become their Forever.

Twenty Five at Tettegouche. From the beginning of their relationship, Tommy and Veronica always enjoyed spending a day or two exploring the outdoors. Being the poor college students that they were, these explorations were often limited to the wonderful state parks of Minnesota. Wild River, Split Rock, Jay Cooke, Interstate, Gooseberry Falls, Cascade River, and more! They coined these days as Adventure Days and quickly relied on these adventures to help them get through the stressful, busy times of college and law school. Every Adventure Day brought a new appreciation for Minnesota and for each other. And the days got even better when they were able to bring along their little monster, Dash. In the last year of law school, Tommy and Veronica had to skip their traditional trip up to the North Shore for Tommy's birthday because of final exams. They decided to plan the North Shore trip in April to celebrate Veronica's birthday instead. Veronica, being the extensive planner that she is, quickly suspected that this trip wasn't just for her birthday. So in late April, the couple (and Dash) headed North! They started in Grand Marais and decided to make their way down the shore. It was a quiet, peaceful, and sunny day - the perfect Adventure Day. Veronica started to second guess that "today was the day" because of how calm and collected Tommy was acting. But sure enough, something happened when they got to one of their favorite spots along the North Shore: Shovel Point at Tettegouche State Park. Tommy asked Veronica if she would like to get a picture with Dash and told her to stand out on the rocky point that overlooked Lake Superior. Veronica knew something was going on because Tommy didn't have his phone in his hand to take the picture. In that moment, Tommy got down on one knee and asked Veronica a question he'd been wanting to ask her for a long time. Smiling ear to ear, and trying to catch her breath, she let out a big and confident "YES".
