Wedding Party

Joy Lomax

Maid of Honor

We met when we were sixteen as volunteers as Rock N Water - what a decade it has been! From playing hooky in high school to talking through big questions about God, to annual road trips to Montana and the PNW, this lady has been a solid, cherished companion.

Kiersten Kelly

Bridesmaid

We met on the first day of med school when she noticed a Chaco tan under my fancy first-day-of-school shoes! Three backpacking trips and one pandemic co-housing situation later, Kiersten is a fantastic, creative friend who knows me and knows how to encourage me incredibly well. We will crush you in a game of Pictionary.

Becky Asselin

Bridesmaid

I'm so blessed to call this powerhouse of a human my sister! Her dedication to her family, to the Lord, to my wonderful big brother, and to her work is inspiring. I've loved adventuring with her these past few years, and look forward to a lifetime of friendship, exploration and good conversations with this lady.

Lynsey Asselin

Bridesmaid

I met Lynsey outside of a Starbucks a few years ago on a stop through Redding. Several months prior, I had broken down crying when Zech told me about her character and dedication to the Lord over the phone in the UC Davis parking lot. She is hilarious, a deep thinker, fearless, and wicked smart. I love adventuring with her, and am so grateful to have her as my sister.

Becca Werner

Bridesmaid

Becca and I go waaaay back - our Moms bumped bellies when they were both pregnant with us. We've navigated church plays in elementary, the weird dramatic days of high school, almost a year straight of weekly sleepovers, and quite a few post-high school shenanigans. She's incredibly savvy, and has introduced me to so many new ideas. I value her intellect, individuality, and straightforward nature, and am so excited that we will be together for this milestone. ICUWICUS!

Kelsey Werner

Bridesmaid

Kelsey and I have known each other since we volunteered together at Rock N Water in 2011. I followed her to Point Loma Nazarene University for undergrad, and she proved to be an amazing human - confidante, friend, hostess, you name it. When I lived in my van in San Diego, she and her roommates welcomed me in to their home many a time for company, warm meals, and access to a washing machine. She has welcomed me, again and again, in to her home in Montana during many road trips. Her wisdom, intentionality, and letter writing skills are unparalleled, and I am so blessed to have her as my friend.

Remi Jayaraman

Bridesmaid

Remi is my cousin, and an indomitable woman! We've been able to adventure with each other as adults outside the scope of family gatherings, and turns out we actually like each other a lot! She no longer cringes when I hug her, and I no longer read newspaper comics in lieu of paying her attention, so we've worked out a pretty good system. I admire her goofiness, creative vision, and intentionality in friendships. I am stoked to continue to do life with her as adults and friends.

Laura Davis

Bridesmaid

Laura and I are both March babies, and shared many birthday parties growing up. As my older cousin, I looked up to her for her spunk, beauty, and knowledge of the world. I have had the distinct privilege of living in the same city as her throughout med school and getting to see her build her family and career in Sacramento. I admire her drive, compassion, and sense of justice. To my memory, she is the only person to have ever beaten me in Bananagrams. All in all, she is an incredible human, and I look forward to getting to know her more in the years to come.

Zechariah Asselin

Bridesman

Zechman has been my little brother since 1996. What a ride, what a ride. He is warm, an incredible servant-leader, a steadfast worker, strange beyond compare, and just plain universally loved. His equal appreciation of hanging out with people no matter the circumstance or location have been an inspiration and source of growth for me throughout my adult life. I'm very stoked to have him for a friend and adventure buddy.

James Asselin

Bridesman

James has been my older brother since my birth in 1995, as can be assumed. He is a wonderfully athletic goof. I have looked up to his incredible social prowess, intentionality, and community-building skills for as long as I can remember. His opinion carries a ton of weight with me, so when he and Becky met Tom and I for Blenders down in Santa Barbara when we were first dating, his thumbs up was the green light to go for it! I love being friends with him, and can't wait to celebrate with him.

Daniel Shank

Best Man

Daniel has grown like a fine wine, which is ironic because he's a whiskey aficionado. Since we were kids laughing late at night about colored flashlights on the ceiling, or going on walks and catching up on life, Dan has been my loyal brother. If you need wisdom, sound reasoning, or need to learn anything about just about anything, look no further. I've never seen someone grow and consistently choose self improvement as intentionally and thoughtfully as he does. He's deserving of every honor. And ladies, he's single (and he hates that I said this). ;)

Laura Veith

Groomswoman

I remember when my favorite sister came into the is world. Sometimes I still tear up remembering us as the little kids that would walk home together from the bus stop. Thankfully she's not just my little sister, but an amazing woman who is wise, funny, and has a very caring heart. She's always trying to find a way to make me laugh, and will always tell me the truth. I can't wait to have a dog, just so I can call Laura over the phone on walks, just like she does.

Eric Veith

Groomsman

I first met Eric when he and my sister, Laura, started dating almost a decade ago. Since then he's gone from brother-in-law to friend seamlessly and I'm overjoyed I get to call him both. He always brings thoughtful insight and humor to any situation. I always look forward to seeing him, even if it's just chewing the cud together. We have a lot in common, and I'm glad we get to spend a lifetime of more adventures to enjoy skiing, fly fishing, Avalanche hockey, and wacky stories.

Ryan Green

Groomsman

Greeno and I have known each other since freshman year of high school. We got closer towards the end of high school due to time in Young Life club and beyond. He's a servant king; a salt of the earth man with a smile of gold. Whether it was getting injured on longboards, long road trips, or just praying when we had no direction in life, he's been the (Minnesota) twin that I've needed. Nowadays we mostly nerd out about plants and his kiddos.

Rob Gutierrez

Groomsman

From 4th grade staff brats running around at Woodleaf, to best friends and roommates at Westmont College, to firepits and encouragement in Sacramento, Rob's always been my wise counselor. He and I could not be more different, and somehow it forged a magnetic bond. Rob gives with generosity that makes the existence of God palpable. Rob has the oldest of souls, and has the kindness that is realized in master plans like those of ancient and great kings.

Ben Robinson

Groomsman

Ben and I became fast friends during the first week of medical school. For the past 4 years Ben and I have talked and prayed almost weekly together. No one knows my insides better than Ben. He's the spiritual brother that the scriptures talk about. I have not received more wisdom, encouragement and recurrent redirecting from anyone else. If you ever need to feel good about yourself, call Ben. Also, do yourself a favor and ask him to sing karaoke sometime.

Alec Cattarin

Groomsman

We met while washing dishes and serving food at Young Life camp in high school, but we wove together through long voicemails, hours of phone calls, hardships, lost loves, and prayer. We've been in a long-distance friendship relationship since 2004, which causes us to relish the infrequent backpacking trips and shenanigans all the more. Alec's heart is too big for his body, but somehow it stays in his chest (it's a medical marvel I swear).

Jay Visbal

Groomsman

Jay is my go-to-adventure buddy, goof without a cause, and has taught me what it is to be gentle no matter what. We live together 4-5 years in 3 different homes in Santa Barbara, and we share a Westmont College community together. I don't think anyone shaped me in my 20's more than Jay did. You'll never meet a more patient man, nor a more sacrificial one.

Matt Fukuda

Groomsman

God knew what he was doing when he placed us in the same house for four years of medical school. We would not have made it through without each other. Nothing can replace posting up late at night in the kitchen and talking about everything and nothing all at once with Matt. We're training as Emergency Medicine docs but at different residencies, but it's great to see how God still weaves us together in our training at a distance. I saw him drop his smile once... and it only lasted for about 30 seconds. Oh and ladies, he plays the piano, cuddles like a puppy, and is single.

Karl Wallenkampf

Groomsman

Karl and I met the very first day of medical school, and bonded as deep thinkers and easy laughers. Dunking our heads and hearts in hot tubs or books late at night brought us together. Karl is someone who can find heaven in everyone. A gentle giant whose generosity is instinctual and present no matter what. He inspires me to be better in every way. Take every book recommendation Karl gives you, actually every recommendation or encouragement Karl gives you, period.

Steven Denler

Groomsman

"Kaka" is Swahili for "Brother." We started out as friends at Westmont, but then became housemates in Tanzania. He and I shared a year together that bonded us for life. Just like we wandered through the streets of London at 2am, we've wandered through life together since then. His love of Jesus has always shown through his biblical study, love of EVERYONE and his creativity. If you get a chance to meet him, ask him what his most recent idea or business venture is. You'll be glad you did.
