How we met?... Well, it depends on who you ask! Toolu’s Perspective: One lovely day, I was chatting with a friend in Nigeria, and I jokingly asked about single Christian guys in Nigeria. I was sure my future husband was from there (don't ask why, I was clearly in a trance). To my surprise, my friend suggested someone from London. London? No way! They’re not my type, or so I thought. My friend insisted I give it a shot. I asked about this mystery man's name and quickly said no without even knowing him (oops, talk about jumping to conclusions). My friend chuckled. He asked if he could share my IG details, and I agreed. Then, a follow request popped up, which I accepted excitedly, eager to explore this connection. Well, days turned into weeks, and then months without a single message. Londoners, right? Who sends a follow request without a greeting? I wasn't about to make the first move, so I carried on with my life, almost forgetting about it all until...Five months later, a DM arrived, a simple "STRANGER" with a grinning emoji. Can you guess how the conversation unfolded? Well, let's save the rest for the main day on May 31st to continue our story! Tolu's Perspective: So, Toolu and I? We're two peas in a pod! Our journey began when a mutual friend wouldn’t stop raving about Toolu’s greatness. I decided to add Toolu on instagram but let’s just say i took my sweet time- a solid 5 months- before sliding into her DMs. Want to know why it took me so long? Well, catch me on the day and I’ll tell you!
Toolu's Perspective: Throughout my life, whenever I imagined someone proposing, Paris never crossed my mind. Our bond grew stronger, and after many prayers, I knew Tolulope Olateju Ola-Odudu was the man I'd marry. The only question was when it would happen. I planned to celebrate my birthday in London and explore other places like Paris. When I asked Tolu about his plans, he talked about a fancy restaurant, and I was convinced that's where he'd propose. I was wrong. Then, in Paris, as I focused on capturing the stunning scenery and the Eiffel Tower, my phone acted up, diverting my attention. Little did I know, Tolu had seized the moment, setting up a surprise recording. When I turned back, he was on one knee, asking the question. That "yes" was the easiest answer I've ever given. Tolu's Perspective: Toolu's family gave me the green light, so I journeyed for the city of romance itself—Paris. Now, Toolu, being the genius detective she is, had a clue I was going to propose, but she was so sure it wouldn’t be in front of the Eiffel Tower. I went ahead, got down on one knee, and proposed—and she said yes!!! Was it recorded? Yes! How? I strategically gave my phone to a family man, knowing full well he wouldn’t be able to run away as he had his wife and kids there and booom! that was how we captured the moment.
