Our Story.

Ours is whirlwind romance.....

Our journey began in an unexpected yet modern way—through a dating app. Interestingly, it was not me who signed up initially. My mum, believing it was time for love to find me, took the initiative and set up my profile herself. What started off as a playful gesture turned into something life changing. My mum traveled to Alaska for her last set of clinicals for nursing school and matched with Justice on the Upward dating app in November of 2024. They said their initial hellos, exchanged phone numbers (mine and his) and my mum told me to be ‘interesting’ while talking to him. Our first conversation was instant, easy, and full of laughter, he felt so familiar to me in a way I could not explain. I told him that I was not the one behind the account, that it was mum, he thought it was hilarious and asked to meet my mum. I thought that was strange especially because he told me he would marry me from day one, but they met, and my mum immediately saw a son in him. We had been talking for hours on end for weeks now- he sent me flowers and a card on Christmas eve, asking me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. We decided to meet in person in January for my mum’s graduation ceremony. From the moment we met, it felt natural—like we had known each other far longer than we had. From the very beginning, our parents were involved with each other, I was quickly addressed as ‘daughter’ by his parents. He met my family; I met his virtually and he asked my dad for my hand in marriage. We got engaged on April 20th, 2025- I went to visit Justice in Alaska for spring break. Unbeknownst to me, he had been planning this with my sister for months, it was a beautiful surprise. It has been such a fabulous journey with him so far, and I am hopeful that it will continue to be. Sincerely, Tolu and Justice
