Fans of beer should take this opportunity to visit Lagunitas Brewing Co's Petaluma taproom. They have a nice outdoor area, and it is an 8-minute drive from the Hotel Petaluma.
Bodega Bay
Bodega Bay is where we got engaged! Anthony proposed at Bodega Head, which has beautiful ocean views. Bodega Bay also has nice beaches and great seafood restaurants. It is about a 30 minute drive from Downtown Petaluma.
Marin French Cheese Co.
This cheese shop/ deli has a pretty outdoor area with beautiful trees and a small pond. It's a great place for a picnic! It is a 15 minute drive from the Hotel Petaluma.
Wild Flour Bread
If you'll have a car and some time to spend exploring western Sonoma county during our wedding weekend, we recommend this fantastic bakery that is about 30 minutes away from downtown Petaluma. We discovered this spot the weekend we got engaged. They have the best olive bread we've ever tasted! There is also a beautiful Redwood grove nearby.
Point Reyes National Seashore
One of the most beautiful places in California! Point Reyes offers great hikes, beaches, and incredible ocean views. It's about a 35 minute drive from Downtown Petaluma.
Tomales Bay Expeditions - Kayaking
Tomales Bay is a fun and scenic place to kayak. Anthony once saw a tiger shark in the water there while we were kayaking together!
Russian River Brewing Company
Another favorite of beer enthusiasts! Russian River Brewing is in Downtown Santa Rosa, about 25 minutes from Downtown Petaluma.
Sonoma Wine Country
There are so many great wineries in the vicinity of Petaluma. Sonoma Plaza and Healdsburg are both about 30 minutes away. Some of our favorites are Merriam (Healdsburg), Flowers (Healdsburg), and Walt (Sonoma Plaza).
