Question

How do I apply for a passport?

Answer

Please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/ to apply for or renew your passport. This website will walk you through all the necessary steps to obtain your passport. It is recommended to do so at least 6 weeks prior to the trip!

Question

I have booked my flight, how do I arrange transportation to the resort?

Answer

Please share your flight information with Edge of Wonder Travel. The agency will arrange your transfer to and from the Cancun airport to NOW Sapphire Riviera.

Question

Can I only book two adults per room?

Answer

No. If your party has more than 2 adults, you can book up to 3 adults and 1 child in each room, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Question

Do I need to exchange money?

Answer

You can exchange American dollars for pesos at a rate of about $1 = 19-20 pesos. You can exchange money easily at the resort or prior to your trip. While many places in Cancun will accept US dollars, they will typically use an exchange rate of $1:10 pesos, so you are better off paying in pesos. Some places will accept credit cards, but many won't. It is best to use your credit card only in emergencies.

Question

Do I need an international phone plan?

Answer

Check with your provider before departure to see if Mexico is included in your phone plan. If you have a smartphone, the resort has wifi and you should be able to text message and call using wifi internet without any charges. We suggest turning your cellular data off and only use wifi to ensure you will not be billed roaming or international charges.

Question

How do I get around town?

Answer

While the resort has any and everything that you need, if you choose to explore other parts of Cancun, here are some tips. Cab drivers do not expect to be tipped. Negotiate your rate up front, because cab drivers have been known to overcharge. Do not carry large amounts of American cash on you. Cancun is considered very safe, but always travel in groups. Do not drink water that is not bottled.
