Scott and I crossed paths for years without knowing it, but he only remembers meeting me when we were in Cooper High School’s production of ‘Seussical'. A year after that, Scott and I had the same study hall and lunch hour which immediately followed. One day, I tagged along to go off campus during study hall. When that hour was over, I stuck around for lunch. Not long after, I thought about asking Scott to our winter formal, and told a friend of ours from theater, which led to me being pushed to ask him. Literally. She pushed me, I fell, he helped me up, I asked him, and we were set to go. We dated for the rest of the year, which included a choir tour to New York, prom, a ton of ultimate frisbee games, and gallons of Brisk Iced Tea. The end of the summer came, and we broke up on the end of my parents’ driveway. He went to Iowa State, and I finished my last year at Cooper before heading to Augsburg the next fall. Five years went by and as we both were finishing our degrees in the fall of 2015, I received a message on LinkedIn. Scott was wondering if I’d like to reconnect, as he was heading back to Minneapolis for work. We met for drinks, and after hours of catching up, the rest, as they say, is history. We’re so thankful for everyone that has played even the smallest part in getting us here. The adventure, even though it’s been a long one already, is really just beginning, and we are so excited to celebrate the start of this new chapter with you.
