After graduating college, Paul and Meredith started in the same class at L.E.K. Consulting in Boston where they quickly became friends. It was pretty clear they had a lot in common when they realized Meredith lived just two floors below Paul in the West End. Same job, same apartment building...they seemed to be in step on the "big" decisions from day 1.
After agreeing to a dinner date, Paul took Meredith to Toro in Boston's South End. There was a wait, so they grabbed a drink at a nearby bar beforehand. The night was full of laughs, getting to know each other, and discussing their shared passion for management consulting (just kidding; mostly complaining about the endless hours).
Thinking she was meeting Paul for breakfast before going to Penn Station to see her family for Easter, Paul's weekend morning "work meeting" ended with him asking Meredith to meet near Gramercy Park. When he mentioned he ran into someone willing to let them in the park, she grew suspicious. They went in, and Paul nervously babbled on about who knows what before sitting Meredith on a bench and asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes!! They were thrilled to celebrate with close family at dinner in the city the next day.
