I had just moved to Wilmington and joined Tinder due to boredom and not really knowing anyone - some friends convinced me that it would be a great way to meet people and experience Wilmington. However, I only ended up physically meeting a single person from Tinder. Yup, you guessed it - Brent. First dates are always kindof nerve-racking, but especially when you're meeting a stranger you met on the internet. I had sent Jennifer (Maid of Honor) a text with his name, where he worked, everything I knew about him from the discussions we had for a couple weeks before we met. When he walked up and was bald (not like his Tinder photo), I was already scripting my text to Jennifer in my head. But he introduced me to the best chicken sandwich I had ever had and we discussed shopping at TJ Maxx while we ate by the sunset. I had a great time and we ended up getting drinks afterward and spending the entire evening together talking. By the end of the date, he could have two bald heads and I couldn't have cared less. Fast forward a few weeks: we were still dating casually but it turns out we both thought the other wasn't really interested. I had decided to "friend zone" him and then ended up coming home early from a long weekend in Columbia, SC. Brent and I talked on my way home and decided to meet downtown (there was a festival going on) for a "Sunday Funday". That is when everything changed. That Sunday was one of the best, most fun days of my life. I think we both knew by that night that this was going to be something.
