We met in high school, and since then life took us in different directions, but we never really lost touch with the occasional check-ins and funny memes. After several years, we finally became reacquainted with each other again and eventually, our friendship turned into something deeper. Our relationship in California started off small—walks and playing Overcooked on the beach, hiking up mountains to justify boba and taco dates, $3 movies at the local theater, and fun rides at amusement parks like Six Flags and Disneyland. Job opportunities took us to different places, but instead of drifting apart, we grew closer together with every long phone call and weekend visit. Distance wasn’t always easy, but it taught us to value the time we had together and that we truly had something worth holding on to. Once we moved to DC, our relationship evolved even further. We got to see each other in a new light, and we enjoyed dinner and movie dates, wine and cheese nights, and hosting game nights with our friends. We also had fun weekends exploring the surrounding area and discovering our favorite hiking spots in Shenandoah National Park—where Sam proposed! These past years, seeing each other grow and growing together, have been a wonderful experience. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with the people who've loved and supported us along the way.
