I don’t even need music if I have some wine in my hand haha

Sarah "Florida Sam" Heckler

Bridesmaid

Hometown: Harrisburg, PA How did you meet Laura: I met Laura in grad school at Meredith. It's funny, my very first memory of Laura involves a conversation around kombucha. We were sitting in class one day waiting for it to start and somehow started the conversation about kombucha flavors. The next class she showed up with a kombucha for me. I remember thinking to myself, "wow that was so nice!" From that moment on we started bonding over wine and tequila and the rest is history. What would your superpower be: If I could pick a superpower it would be teleportation. What song will get you out on the dance floor: After a glass of wine pretty much any song will get me on the dance floor. If you’re looking for suggestions the classic wobble and cha cha slide are great starters.

Ryan Hayford

Groomsman

Hometown: Nashua, NH How did you & CT meet? Heavy Talevi and I met playing softball in North Carolina. He was the fastest guy on the field, I've never seen feet move that fast and he always gave 110% -- best leadoff hitter I've ever had on a team. What is your favorite thing about Laura & CT as a couple? CT is my guy & I remember him telling me about his first date with Laura...he was head over heels. I think the first time I met Laura was at a Bulls game and her smile lit up the ballpark, she matched CT's personable and charismatic personality. CT had BIG puppy dog love eyes for Laura. As a couple, I admire how much laughter and excitement they bring to any conversation or event. They play off each other so well and every time I see them...it feels like it's never enough time. My wife & I are big fans of the future Talevi's. What is your best memory of CT? Man... I could go with so many. However, recently CT came to celebrate our new house and spent time with me, Jillian & my son, Henry. CT is a natural with kids-- he and Hank were slapping high fives and laughing at the dinner table. I'm not sure who was laughing harder but it was a really nice moment to watch CT connect with my son. What was your first impression of Laura? Inquisitive, excited & happy. Big ol smile. When Laura asks a question, she listens with her entire body and you feel her genuine interest. Unafraid to share her feelings and rock-solid in her beliefs. First impression- CT just keeps hitting dingers!

Myki Bajaj

Groomsman

Hometown: Madison, NJ How did you & CT meet? My sophomore year at Davidson (CT’s freshman year), I was in a dorm directly across from two wrestlers - far enough that I had somewhere to hide when they got too drunk, but close enough that I could smell them from my room. First interaction with Laura? We attended a wedding in Savannah to which CT kept threatening to bring a date- this Laura woman who “he was really, really into, but he didn’t want her to know yet because he didn’t want to scare her away.” Still not sure he’s told her; think he’s waiting for the right moment. Needless to say, as soon as I saw Laura at that wedding, I pulled her aside & told her that CT was head over heels in love with her (they hadn’t said that to each other yet), and now everyone reading this is getting a free dinner. You’re welcome. What’s your favorite memory with bride and/or groom? This is a tough one. Not to get too sappy, but the laughs that CT & I share together (usually at the expense of our friends) are just as important to me as the moments of comfortable silence we’re able to hold with one another in between the noise. CT is truly a brother to me. If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Unlimited refills. Drink empty at the wedding? Mine’s full. Always find yourself running out of patience? I’m perpetually zen. Line at Costco gas station too long? I’m not even there, I’m getting a hot dog. What song will get you on the dance floor? It's hard to pry me off a dance floor

Anthony "Boar" Elias

Groomsman

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA First interaction with the groom: I first met CT on a recruiting trip to Davidson College for wrestling, and a few months later we were teammates, best friends, and brothers. When I first met him, it involved a lot of sweat and heavy breathing, and intense eye contact, and that was just from shaking hands with him. I think I also bled a little. First interaction with the bride: I believe my first interaction with Laura was at a group brunch down in Charlotte, we determined what animals we would be based on our choices in life. I like to think we all a bunch of dogs 🐶! WOOF! My favorite memory with the bride and groom is actually a night when the three of us were staying at my brother's and his wife's house in Charlotte and a drunk driver crashed through my brother's house. Too many details to type here, but it was a major bonding experience, and for some reason CT conveniently couldn't find any clothes to put on when the firemen and police came to the incident 😉 What would your superpower be: If I could have a superpower it would be teleportation. Gotta be somewhere? Boom I'm there. Gotta go to the bathroom? Boom that problem is now teleported to someone else's bladder. Oh also super strength so I can fend off CT when he realizes I'm the reason he's going to the bathroom at twice the rate 😂 Any upbeat song will get me on the dance floor but to name a few: Danza kuduro or vivir mi vida remix or no sleep

Philip "Boar" Elias

Groomsman

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA How did I meet CT: I met his musk before I met him. I visited Davidson for a recruiting trip, & near the weightroom, I was hit by the smell of patriotism, celsius, & wild boar. I think I heard Bruce Springsteen playing. Upon entering the weightroom, I spotted CT - he was in the middle of teaching the lifting coach how to lift, but he was nice enough to pause & welcome me to Davidson. My hand still hurts today from his handshake First interaction with Laura: Upon arriving at a cookout hosted by me & my wife, Laura whips out a spread of veggies, which made me feel great about the 30th hotdog I had just eaten. While we were double fisting hotdogs & beers, she was double-fisting carrots & tequila shots. Laura was excited about playing games, in which I learned of her competitiveness. I also learned of Laura's infectious laugh - which made our party way cooler than it was. Favorite memory of bride & groom: Mexico Vacation. I knew CT was a tank, but I really learned how much tequila Laura can put away & still kick ass in beach volleyball/dodgeball. We bonded even more by turning our stomachs into turtle shells. Turtle shell gang! Superpower: Time travel. For many obvious reasons this would be a great superpower. However, let's not skip over the small things. For example, if you wear a white shirt out for drinks & a friend spills red wine on you- time travel to earlier that day & choose a different shirt or go further back & find a different friend

Casey "Sloth" Underwood

Groomsman

Hometown: ROAVegas (Roanoke) How did you and CT meet? He was a freshman on the wrestling team & I was a senior at another local school. I immediately hated him. Not because he did anything wrong but because he was good. Little jealousy for sure. I was stronger, faster, and a lot heavier. We would find out later I was only heavier. We became really close after the season. I think I even took CT to his first Rated R movie. First interaction with Laura? I met Laura at a VT football game. Despite CT telling me not to make it awkward, I did and she passed with flying colors. It was an absolute blast. So much so that I told him I would beat him up like only a big brother could if he somehow screwed it up with her. What’s your favorite memory with bride and groom? CT & I have had some great times together but the engagement party was one for The Guinness Book. Great food, a few beverages, and celebrating the two of them. It was perfect. I'm still convinced they practiced the questions prior to that night. If you could have a superpower, what would it be? The X-Men have a character named Gambit. He heats playing cards up in his hands and throws them at people who are causing harm to others. A heroic protector. Plus he has a Cajun accent that women love. Who wouldn't want that? What song will get you on the dance floor? Anything by Katy Perry. Return of the Mack. Everything Drake has ever made

Marvin "Tommy" Thomas

Brother of The Bride + Groomsman

Hometown: Booowie. PG county fer lyfe First time meeting B&G: Met Laura for the first time in DC at my parent's apartment in 90'. CT came to visit us in Florida for thanksgiving. Said he liked warm drinks and Celsius and didn't want to get the chocolate dessert at dinner. Then he said he was a Yankee and Giants fan. Questionable choices if you ask me but we'll accept him as part of the family. I met Laura fresh out the hospital. I came home to our apartment in dc with my parents and realized I wasn't an only child. We hit it off and have been friends ever since. Favorite memory with the bride or groom: Too many to count with Lu. You'll hear some throughout the night. My favorite memory with CT is when Laura ordered a shot of Casamigos at a bar in Miami and it cost $50. CT paid it without question. I was so impressed. I said get used to this and thanked him for taking on this responsibility. Good luck buddy. Superpower if you could: My superpower would be to teleport. Travel anywhere in the world I want instantly. Flying and driving long distances are the worst. My wife stole mine but I'll let it slide since we're married now. What song will get you on the dance floor: I'll be breaking it down on the dance floor regardless. Big fan of playing the hits. Me and pops will be getting down to shout at some point during the night. Might even bring out the togas from his college years. Toga! Toga!
