We can thank sports betting for a lot of aspects of our lives…even how we met (kind of). The year was 2017. Todd struts into Caesars wearing a fancy new suit for his first day of work as a sports betting consultant. Nicole is already there in her leggings and sweatshirt, ready to write her fiftieth promotional email for the World Series of Poker. Todd can’t fathom a workplace with no formal dress code, so he persists with the fancy suits. Every day he enters Caesars determined to go straight to his office/closet without talking to anybody. The suits were a tad over the top, but they caught Nicole’s attention, so it paid off in the end. The two didn’t meet or talk for weeks. Todd never spoke to anybody. Although, he insists he can still hear the sound of Nicole’s voice yelling at Danielle about the office fantasy football draft. The draft was serious business around those parts. One day as Nicole was scrolling through Hinge, Todd popped up on her profile. She thought better than to match with someone at work, so she let it go. But then she got a notification that Todd swiped on her. To be honest, if he didn’t care, neither did she. This is where things get funny. They spent the next few weeks texting about USC football, the Steelers, and who Nicole should trade on her roster. You know, only the most important things in life. After her coworkers stalked him on social media and gave the thumbs up (thanks Danielle), it was time for their first date. Todd picked a brewery that neither of them like or have ever been back to, but he needed to set the bar low. Can’t have a girl thinking she’s getting fine dining every time they go out. The brewery was a perfect choice because it was Monday Night Football, so if Nicole was a dud, Todd could just watch the game behind her head (Todd’s exact words). The funny part comes in when Todd asks Nicole where he can pick her up before their date. She thinks this is a joke because they work two doors down from each other. Turns out, Todd had no idea they shared an office or even worked together. It really should’ve ended things before they even started, but Nicole decided to be generous and give him a shot. Now, one spunky dog, two homes, and five years later…they get to say “I Do” in front of all of their family and friends. We can’t wait to share this special day with you.
