How We Met

Love At First Flight

It was a beautiful August day at PTI airport. Whitney had just arrived at the terminal to catch a flight for her brother's wedding. She was approaching the entrance when a ramp agent, Todd, caught a chance glance of her. They exchanged how-ya-doins and found themselves deep in conversation. Whitney had to leave to check-in for her flight and they said their goodbyes. Todd finished his break and followed his crew back to the ramp but knew he was making a mistake by not asking for her number. He was about to walk through the door when he suddenly turned around and rushed up the escalator. He then tapped her on the shoulder while she was checking in and asked her if she would go on a date with him when she returned and she responded "I thought you'd never ask!". She wrote her number down on a flyer and they nervously parted ways. They began texting that day and instantly became attached from that point on. They spent every day together and slowly set their roots in High Point, North Carolina where Whitney was finishing up her last semester in college at the time.

The Proposal

A Magic Moment

It was a couple days into Todd and Whitney's yearly Siesta Key get away. On a whim they decided they wanted to celebrate their 5 year anniversary at Disney's Magic Kingdom. They woke up bright and early and sang to Disney songs all the way there. Little did Whitney know that Todd would be carrying around her engagement ring in hopes of discovering the right moment. They had half a day of laughter and nostalgia on the rides they had both enjoyed during their childhoods. They had taken many pictures but Todd suggested they take a picture at the back of the castle before the sun set. They asked a random couple to take a picture of them. Little did this non-English speaking couple know that they would play a pivotal role in this story. Todd noticed the man was putting a lot of effort into getting the right angle and knew he would be the perfect person to capture this moment. He asked the man to take one more picture, reached into his fanny pack, and presented Whitney with a beautiful engagement ring before lowering himself onto one knee and asking her to be his wife. She cried and exclaimed "yes!" and they kissed. This was followed by tremendous applause and cheers. They spent the next hour walking aimlessly around the park in a daze not knowing or caring where they were going just being happy to be with each other.
