Our First Date

May 29, 2015

We met for the first time at Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center for a round of mini golf and see where it goes from there...we played all 36 holes (full disclosure, we didn't pay for the second round!) while having great and easy getting to know you conversation. After mini golf, we went to the community park for a walk to continue conversation and just spend more time together. After a 30 minute walk we headed to The Ram to have a drink and some appetizers and continued to talk. Conversation was just so comfortable and easy, our 18 holes of mini golf and see where it goes ended up being a 5 hour date that neither of us wanted to end. After drinks, Todd drove me home (I'd walked from my apartment) and I couldn't resist a kiss to finish off a truly fabulous first date! I knew I definitely wanted a second date and really couldn't wait to see him again!

The Proposal

September 14, 2018

He proposed while we were on vacation visiting our former roommate, Melissa in New York for a week. After a long and fun day of touring Manhattan, seeing the sites (Empire State Building, Wall Street, Central Park) We got back to the house, and Todd asked me to go for a walk with him on the boardwalk after dinner. When he insisted on actually going for a walk after dinner, I maybe started to suspect something was up. It was a beautiful night for a walk, just warm enough with a breeze coming off the water, stars overhead, and Mars bright above the horizon, I'm glad he insisted! Now, Todd will tell you that as we were walking and talking, he was attempting to tell me his feelings and plans for our mutual future as a lead in to his proposal. However, I (being completely oblivious to his plans) just kept interrupting him (thinking we were just having a conversation). Finally we sat on one of the benches along the boardwalk and that's when he popped the ultimate question! He said 'We've been talking a lot tonight about the future and our plans for it, and <pulls ring out of pocket> I'd really like you to be a more permanent part of mine, will you marry me?' I said 'Oh my god, Yes! Of Course!' then really saw the ring and immediately blurted 'Oh my god, it's SO SPARKLEY!' Then I had a bit of a happy cry, and I think he did too. What a perfect ending to a fantastic day in NYC!
