We met through the dating app Hinge haha. We started talking on there and probably talked for like a month before finally meeting up. Kelsey made the move and asked when the first date was going to happen. We had our first date at Tampa Bay Brewery on Super Bowl Sunday and it was perfect. We ended up talking for hours and sharing beers and food. Todd then walked Kelsey to her car and made the move for our first kiss. And Kelsey then drove home blaring Taylor Swift’s “Sparks Fly” smiling ear to ear. And that was that!
You can probably guess that this is Kelsey writing this story. Now, I knew this man was up to something back in January. He happened to work from home one day. When a knock on the door happened, Todd basically ran for the door. Although, he was probably running because I, too, was also running for the door, thinking it was my Sephora package. When I answered the door before Todd got there, the delivery man asked for a signature and I was like “for makeup?”. Shortly after I said that, Todd scooted me aside and signed for his order and then proceeded to quickly walk to our bedroom and close the door. He then emerged and acted like he had overspent on a baseball card. And I was like “uhh, okay. Weird.”. Sneaky, right? I later found out that delivery was the diamond. Now, fast forward to proposal day! We were in Texas and Todd planned for us to go to the Dallas Arboretum. Flowers make me think of my mom, so Todd usually finds places like this for me when we travel. That morning I did notice he chose to wear a blue button down shirt with nice khaki shorts. I remember thinking that was an interesting choice in 100 degree heat over his usual Travis Matthew dri fit shirt and lulu shorts. So, I then decided to wear the one dress I had packed with me, which happened to have flowers on it. Anyways, we made our way through the beautiful arboretum and entered the rose garden. It was intimate and just us. I turned to take a picture of a lovely pink rose and when I turned around to show Todd the picture, he was down on one knee holding the ring. He gave the sweetest speech and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! Haha we were smiling so big! The best feeling! From there, we went and found AC and celebrated with margaritas, tacos, and guacamole. And then found a cool brewery, of course. It was the perfect day!
