I’d been volunteering at Pet Pal Animal Shelter every Saturday for about 6 months. Todd’s mom had tried to set me up with him countless times but I always had an excuse. I can remember her telling me about him again at the Christmas Party just a few weeks prior and me blowing her off again. On Saturday December 16th, Todd walked in to look at a Basset Hound and my life changed for the better. It sounds crazy to say, but it was truly love at first sight and I’ve never looked back.
It was the last night of our cruise and I’d decided that he clearly wasn’t going to propose on this vacation despite the perfect opportunities. Boy was I wrong! We were sitting at dinner talking to the sweetest couple about the process they went through to adopt their little boy from China. They brought out dessert, but I was so into our conversation that I didn’t even look at it. I glanced and saw writing on the plate and thought to myself it’s not my birthday. Then I read it again and Todd asked, “will you marry me?” I think we both had misty eyes, but it was the easiest question I’ve ever answered in my entire life.
Todd and I are so excited to share our big day with you! We can’t wait for you to join us as we say “I Do” and dance the night away.
