Miami is a City of Neighborhoods! Each one has a very different vibe. Our wedding will be held in Coral Gables, to the west of Coconut Grove, and the hotel blocks are there as well. DOWNTOWN: Home to some foodie spots, cool bars, the tourist trap of Bayside Shopping Center, and of course the Heat Arena is here! BRICKELL: the true "downtown" of Miami, where Robin lives! MIDTOWN/EDGEWATER: More residential, but some foodie spots and shopping. Toby lives here! WYNWOOD: Graffiti, cool artsy shops, and lots of dinner/lunch spots as well as bars / clubs! Great for walking around. MIAMI BEACH: The classic image that comes to mind with Miami: great beaches, crazy people, and lots of delicious places to eat. COCONUT GROVE: cute, walkable, para-college neighborhood with lots of cute shops and places to eat. LITTLE HAVANA: home of the infamous "calle ocho"...which is overrated as a tourist spot unfortunately, but it's still fun to walk with your icecream (see below)

Robin: "B Bistro" in Brickell...they don't do reservations so get there early / be prepare to wait a bit, but it's worth it!! Try their delicious pastelito pancakes. Chugs in Coconut Grove has also become a recent favorite! Toby: "Doce Provisions" in Coral Gables. Good portions, outdoor eating.
Robin: besides Chickfila? Just kidding. It's definitely Taco Stand (Wynwood) or Bodega (South Beach). Toss up between them for the best street tacos and vibes. (Bodega has amazing frozen margaritas). They just opened a Bodega in Coconut Grove! Toby: Kush (a local chain). Craft burgers with local craft bear, filling, cool vibes. Try the Johnny Utah Burger - it's my favorite! Tap42 is another great local chain for any needs - brunch/dinner/etc.
Robin: Depends on the vibe you're looking for. Toby has taken me on so many wonderful dates that it's hard to pick. "Crazy About You" is a cute, chic waterfront restaurant in Brickell. For a more casual but delicious go-to, we usually eat Thai food (my favorite food!) at Bonding (Brickell) or Daek (Midtown). Toby: Crust. It's a small, intimate Italian restaurant with GIGANTIC portion sizes; parking is limited so recommend taking an uber. There's also Motek where Robin took me for my birthday...we went to the Brickell location but there is one in Coral Gables as well! Delicious Mediterranean food. Lastly, Fuchai is a great casual eat - Korean fusion spot close to Edgewater/Wynwood. Wait - I thought of one more - Baby Janes is a delicious ramen spot in Brickell!!
Robin: "Azucar Ice Cream" along Calle Ocho in Little Havana. It's famous and delicious, right across from the domino park! Toby took me here on one of our early dates :) Toby: "Fireman Derecks" for pies and cakes (ask for "crack pie" aka salted caramel) and "Salt and Straw" for icecream! They have locations in Wynwood and in Coconut Grove
Robin: "Sugar" in Brickell....vibes and rooftop views are unmatched. No happy hour that I remember and the cocktails are pricey...but the experience is worth it. Dress code after 6pm! Toby: Lost Boys in Downtown. Very cool, eclectic vibe with pool tables and cocktails.
Robin: J Wakefield in Wynwood...the sours are perfect, and they have old-school game consoles that you can play while you drink! Plus star wars graffiti all over the walls...what's not to love? Toby: J Wakefield, but Robin stole it. Can also check out Veza Sur in Wynwood.
Robin: I honestly love Barsecco in Brickell...they have great drink and food options, Miami vibes, and I spent many happy hours there with my residency colleagues (and with Toby!). Happy Hour: Monday to Friday from 3PM to 8PM | Saturday and Sundays from 4pm to 8 pm. I know Toby is going to say my other favorite so I'll let him tell it... Toby: The other favorite is one we both share: Beaker and Grey in Wynwood. Cocktails there during happy hour are delicious and reasonably priced. Chugs (Coconut Grove) also had a great happy hour. Last one: "Sweet Liberty" is this cool dive bar in Miami Beach with lots of happy hour options and dope vibes.
Robin: Puroast Coffee in Brickell...has the vibes that remind me the most of all my favorite coffee shops back in NC and TN. Toby: Vice City Bean in Edgewater - their vanilla lattes are amazing (I steal sips from Robin's) and they have rotating blends for their ready brews, which never disappoint. La Pain is lowkey cafe in the Grove with unlimited coffee, wifi, and delicious food (can double as a brunch spot).
Robin: Honestly...for a classic tourist spot I would say South Pointe Pier Park on Miami Beach. Toby took me here for a date once and we had fun walking the beachwalk, waving at the cruise ships as they left, and people watching...miami beach locals are a special breed so come prepared to gawk. The nice beaches are obviously also there and are unmatched. Only warning is that parking is a nightmare on the beach and they tow aggressively (just ask Toby); consider ubering! Other tourist thing that is super fun is the "celebrity house tour boats" that leave from Bayside (in the Downtown neighborhood) and take you around "Star Island" where lots of celebrities have mansions. We went and it was really fun! Toby: You gotta do the Wynwood Walls - not the one you pay for but just walk around Wynwood and take in all the amazing graffiti.
Robin: This is kind of cheating because it's also technically a tourist spot, but Vizcaya in Coconut Grove is a gorgeous historic mansion with beautiful outdoor gardens and waterfront views, lots of seating. This is where Toby proposed to me!! Toby: Ditto.
Robin: Books & Books in Coconut Grove. There is a bigger one in Coral Gables but I like the set up of Coconut Grove better. Toby: Same!
Robin: Rooftop Cinema in South Beach is amazing. And Puttshack in Brickell is a fun place to show certain people (like Toby) how to lose at mini-golf. Toby: LaGniappe (Edgewater/Midtown) for wine by the glass and live music every night!
