World Renown Attractions in the US Northwest

Glacier National Park

A Roadtrip out to Glacier National Park is going to be 100% worth it if you have the time. You will see wildlife such as wild goats, and grizzly bears, and some of the most stunning mountain vistas in the world. The famous Going-to-the-Sun Road offers one of North America’s most spectacular drives. 4-5 hours from Spokane.

Yellowstone National Park

A truly unique geothermal wonderland unlike anywhere else on Earth. World Renown Yellowstone national park will take multiple days to explore. Reserve lodging early! 5.5-6 hours drive from Spokane.

Mount Rainier National Park

Iconic 14,411-foot stratovolcano, old-growth forests, wildflower meadows, and dramatic glaciers. A must-see for photographers and hikers, especially when the wildflowers are in bloom in late July. 4.5-5 hour Drive from Spokane.

North Cascades National Park

Known as the “American Alps” for its rugged peaks, glaciers, and turquoise alpine lakes. Far fewer crowds than other major parks but equally stunning mountain scenery. 3.5-4 hour drive from Spokane.

Manito Park and Botanical Gardens

90-acre park, with a 5 gardens which include a European Renaissance-style garden, The Gaiser Conservatory, The Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden, and the 2007 number 1 rose garden in the USA; Rose Hill. Great place for the whole family.

Riverfront Park

A scenic urban park in downtown Spokane, that features picturesque views of the Spokane River and popular attractions such as the Pavilion, which held the 1974 Words Fair. It also contains the upper and lower spokane falls, and the iconic Spokane Clock tower.

Coeur d'Alene

Lakeside town with lots of shops, art galleries, good eating, and lots of beach areas for a day at the Lake. Tubbs Hill is located close by which give opportunity for scenic hiking and CLIFF JUMPING! There are also opportunites to rent ski-, and sail-boats for all your watersport desires.

Dishman Hills Natural Area

Very conveniently located 350 acre natural area. Hike to Eagle peak for vast views of our beautiful country side, or find the abandoned watertower in the north western corder of the park for views of the whole city of Spokane (especially beautiful at night if you have the nerve, and don't get lost trying to find it). I (Tobi) have spent a lot of time running these trails in my teenage years. Very much reccomend for an early morning hike or trail run.

Riverside State Park

Scenic place to walk and located close to downtown Spokane. There were plenty of open picnic tables and places to sit. The bridge makes for an awesome picture. There is a daily parking cost if you do not have a WA Discovery Pass.

Downtown Spokane

Many beautiful historic buildings. Lots of cute coffee shops, book stores, a mall, and gondolas to overlook the riverfront amonst other things. Lots of activities.

Green Bluff

This collection of family-owned farms is just 15 minutes north of Spokane, WA. Depending on the time of year, you can pick strawberries, cherries, peaches, apples, pumpkins, or Christmas trees. It’s the perfect spot to try out fruit picking near Spokane with the whole family!

Palm Court Grill and Peacock Room Lounge

Bar and Grill, located inside of the beautiful Historic Grand Davenport Hotel. Visit this place if even just to gawk at the lavish interios design.

Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes

Catholic Cathedral with beautiful architecture.

Elsie Lake

One of the many Jewels of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. AllTrails.com or other Trail sites to explore the many beautiful hikes just 1-2 hours away from Spokane.
