At the end of the summer of 2020, a mutual friend (who had briefly gotten back together with her boyfriend at the time) insisted we would be perfect for each other. If we’re being honest, neither of us were particularly interested. About a month later, David got Tori’s number and asked her out on a date. Tori reluctantly said yes — with absolutely zero expectations. And well… the date was terrible. Naturally, David asked her out again the very next day. Still unimpressed, Tori replied: “Name five things you learned about me.” Confidently, David named six. And just like that, everything changed. What started with hesitation, low expectations, and a truly questionable first date quickly turned into something neither of us saw coming. Since then, we’ve been inseparable — choosing each other, growing together, and building a life better than anything we could have imagined. Ironically, shortly after we officially started dating… the very couple who set us up broke up. We like to think their short-lived reunion had a higher purpose. Sometimes love doesn’t start with fireworks. Sometimes it starts with persistence, six small details, and a second chance. And we’re so grateful it did 🤍
