Bill and Jennifer missed each other as Brockport students but met as alumni during homecoming weekend in 2013. Bill attended as a panelist for a young alumni event, Jennifer was working for their alma mater. They both knew it was love at first sight but nothing came of it until they came back together that spring to volunteer with their young alumni leadership group. They teamed up to bake garlic bread for the Ronald McDonald House; one burned loaf later, something sparked. Bill found a way to come back to Brockport the following weekend and the rest was history. With the help of some great friends, these Brockport sweethearts fell in love.
On April 29, Bill vaguely said he needed some chalk and Jennifer to get out of the house. After refusing to leave the house for a rare Saturday with no plans, Bill settled for Jenn taking a shower as his needed set-up time. When she came down the stairs, their pug, Ted, had a special message for his mom waiting in the kitchen. With a bright green bow tie and his chalkboard message "Mama will you marry my Dada?"...Ted was the perfect wing man for Bill to get down on one knee and ask if Jenn made plans for the rest of her life. In their house they bought together earlier that year, amidst the renovations to make it their home, Bill asked and Jennifer couldn't wait to say "yes!"
