Workplace romance — it’s the ultimate mix of business + pleasure. At first things were innocent, until the office holiday party when something clicked (tequila). Workplace etiquette was out the window, and later that night, Tommy started twirling Tina around the Christmas tree, soon enough to plant a big smooch on her. Post-Christmas, Tommy locked in the first date, but first had to convince Tina who was deep in her annual body reset/cleanse and claimed she would not be much fun to date during Dry January. Tommy was persistent and they got creative – vegan restaurants, yoga dates, and plenty of homemade meals were in order for the rest of the month. This one goes out to Will Frame, one of Tommy’s best friends and groomsmen! If it weren’t for Will introducing Tommy to his new job in Seattle, Tommy and Tina may have never met.
During the pandemic lockdown, Tommy and Tina hunkered down on Camano Island at Tommy’s grandparents for almost 6 months. Despite the uncertainty, their bond grew stronger, and they soaked in the quieter and adventurous moments on Camano. If they were cooped up in their tiny Seattle condo, it may have been a different story. Tina continued to work remote, but Tommy’s work was fizzling out. Tommy almost pivoted and became a teacher, but a recruiter eventually captured his interest on LinkedIn. As soon as Tommy got the new job offer, he knew his next move was asking Tina to marry him. Tommy wanted Tina to know how he felt, ready for life together, and that he chose her every day. Fast forward to December 2020, the holiday season was upon us once again. Each December Tommy and Tina would pick a date to celebrate their anniversary, so what Tina thought was their anniversary date, was soon to be their proposal night. It was a classic rainy Seattle evening, but luckily the two are always game to make the best of things. They had dinner at 2120 outside on a covered and heated patio. Later a failed attempt at the Space Needle turned into a Monorail ride, a walk through the Christmas lights at Westlake, and cocktails huddled up in Post Alley. At this point Tommy’s hair and clothes are soaked (Tina saved by her tiny umbrella!), the liquid layer only lasting so long, it was time to make moves. They were spitting distance to the Inn at the Market, so Tommy teed it up and led Tina inside the lobby, convincing her they could duck there for cover. Little did she know, he made reservations and surprised her with a staycation. They walked into the room with a beautiful view of the market and waterfront, champagne prepped on ice, Tommy wastes no time, pops the bottle, gets down on one knee with the ring in hand, and asks Tina to marry him.
We love adventuring together, whether it's on the water or in the mountains, just as much as we like a fun night out enjoying delicious food and drinks with friends, hopefully catching a live show and dancing the night away! You can also find us discovering new music together, often paired with cooking yummy and nourishing meals in the kitchen, getting our sweat on doing something active, or chasing sunsets.
