A video that shares the shortened version of our story!
A long time ago, around 2016, Tyler and Tran played video games with a large group of people. At this time, they were simply friends by association and had little interaction. In fact, Tyler may sometimes joke that Tran "hated" him during this time, but she didn't; she only thought he was kind of annoying. Years would pass as Tran and Tyler only played games together when with mutual friends. One day in 2019, Tran was playing a game called Apex Legends with one of her friends. She had died, and was spectating her friend trying to survive the last couple squads. She noticed in the kill feed Tyler and his friend, Venom's, usernames. After the game was over, she messaged them GG (good game) and explained she noticed they were in the same game together. As Apex Legends is a 3-player, squad-based game, and Tyler and Venom primarily played together, there was a spot open. They invited Tran to play with them within the week, and found they worked... okay together. So they all continued to play together as a team. Some time in early-to-mid 2020, the Eagles and the Superbowl were a topic of discussion in the voice chat. Tran mentioned she remembered seeing some of the parade, as she was attending Drexel University in Philadelphia at the time. (Technically, she still attended Drexel, but classes and final assignments were held remotely due to Covid). Tyler said he was able to go, as he didn't live too far from Philadelphia. Tran explained she didn't live in Philadelphia, but a town maybe an hour and a half away. This information was pocketed for a while. Spending time together with someone almost everyday does help with getting to know someone, as conversations were not always limited to video games. Tyler and Tran got to know each other fairly well throughout that (at least) year-and-a-half. On July 20th, 2020, Tran and Tyler had a conversation and ultimately shared they had feelings for one another. Tyler suggested that the two meet up for lunch. Tran, at the time, did not have a car, and said unfortunately she wouldn't be able to. Tyler said he wouldn't mind driving the full distance. That week's Saturday, July 25th, Tyler ended up meeting Tran (and her mother) for the first time in-person at the Bethlehem Public Library. He arrived with flowers, and the two spent time walking around the Main Street area, and getting lunch together. After that first date, the two would see each other in-person every other Sunday. Later on in the relationship, Tran got a job where she worked 4 days per week, and would spend her 3-day weekends with Tyler. On February 14th, 2022, Tran moved in with Tyler, in Bristol, PA. The two quickly got accustomed to living and working together, so as to build the foundation for their future as partners. In June 2022, Tyler and Tran adopted two kittens: Yakimoto (gray) and Ellie (brown tabby). Today, both cats are very healthy, and very active. They have been a wonderful addition to Tran and Tyler's little family. To this day, Tyler and Tran still play video games with one another, with a little couple's set up in their bedroom. The two have big dreams, and being able to celebrate their love with their loved ones is one of them. We hope you are able to join us on July 20th, 2026!
