Check out the Hua Hin night market: http://www.bangkok.com/huahin/hua-hin/night-market.htm (Christina is a fan of the rotee stalls.) The Rest Detail Hotel website has some great recommendations for things to do around Hua Hin: http://www.restdetailhotel.com/attraction/
Chris and Christina went here during our trip to Hua Hin in 2014. About 7km south of Hua Hin, it's easy to get here via taxi. On top of the mountain is a Thai-Chinese temple (Wat Khao Lat) and many mischievous resident monkeys. Watch your belongings - the monkeys have been known to steal things!
The Cha-Am Beach area (next to the Veranda Hotel) has a few food stalls and massage places. It's a charming location to enjoy the beach and have an authentic (and inexpensive) meal and Thai massage overlooking the ocean.
Considering traveling around Thailand before/after the wedding? Chiang Mai is a great place for a stop. Chris and Christina have stayed at the Le Meridien Chiang Mai (http://www.lemeridienchiangmai.com). It's down the street from the Chiang Mai night market. We went to the Boys Blues Bar for live music and sangsom and soda. We also went zip lining at Flight of the Gibbons (https://www.treetopasia.com) and had a lovely romantic (and delicious) meal at Paak Dang (https://www.facebook.com/paakdangchiangmai/).
Phuket is another beautiful place to travel in Thailand. Chris and Christina have spent time in Phuket both together and separately. There are so many great places to travel, it's hard to know where to start! Check out the link below for details and suggestions.
The Soi Dog Foundation will always be a special place for us. Chris and Christina spent most of their week-long holiday in Phuket going to the Soi Dog Foundation to volunteer with the dogs and cats being cared for there. The Soi Dog Foundation does amazing work to help save the street animals in Thailand and promote awareness for animal adoption and care. Want to help?
