We met in Pittsburgh! A shy hello turned into a coffee date. If you know us, coffee is our love language. The one coffee date turned into another, and another, and so the story goes. We weren't looking for a relationship, simply just a new friendship. It wasn't too long before we knew we weren't just friends, but soul mates. They say if you're lucky enough to marry your best friend, then you're lucky enough. We are those lucky ones.
We went on our 2-year dating anniversary trip to Charleston, South Carolina; a place we loved to get away to. The trip was nothing short of magic. It started with a stay in a historic home, our pup Wilbur in tow. (Next is all a total surprise to Katherine!) The first night we took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the cobblestone streets, which poured us out at the harbor and our most beloved landmark; the Pineapple fountain. It was evening, a man on the street was playing Moon River on the saxophone, and we slow danced on the steps of the famous fountain. A photographer snapped photos as we spun around, and without skipping a beat, or a single detail, Brian proposed. After tears and leaps of joy (and a million "yes!"'s), we walked in complete bliss to a restaurant we always dreamed of dining at. The night ended with way too much dessert, laughter, and true bliss.
When we started searching for venues, we knew we wanted a place with a story and Southern charm. Our venue is just that! Mim's is a historic estate, restored to all it's 1800's glory. The original front porch, fireplace, and billowing oak trees give this venue a romantic feeling that can only be experienced in person! We are so excited to share this experience with you and to be married in a place that is so utterly darling and Southern! Check out our venue here: https://www.mimshousenc.com/
