Because we don’t know how long forever is, WE’RE determined to do the remainder of our forever together. On July 28, 2022, I was minding my business taking Caleb to the orthodontist, vibing in the car recording our usual SnapChat video when I received a private message from my King, Cedric Clark. He told me he was single and he hoped that I was too. I replied that I was open to dating, and was willing to give him a shot. Basically, a simple hello turned into a goodnight. That night we talked on the phone for 9hrs 8mins and 23secs. Yes, we went to sleep on the phone like we were in high school. We decided that night that we were exclusive, and we were going to write our own love story. We decided that we would be best friends before anything. We decided that we would talk about everything and argue about nothing. We decided to have a positive resolution to any conflict we may have. We decided to be healthy for each other mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. On September 5, 2022, he asked my hand in marriage in front of my family, and I said YES. Now, of course it was all happening so fast, but we knew our relationship with God and we were allowing Him to lead us every step of the way. From week one until now, we pray together and seek God’s face in all we do. I am so comfortable, secure, and safe with Cedric Clark that I was for once allowing myself to take the passenger seat and enjoy the ride. He made me go against my word, “I’m never moving back to Americus.” We moved in together, and now we don’t have to say good morning or good night via FaceTime because we wake up together and go to sleep TOGETHER. We know that challenges will come, but the love we share makes overcoming worth it. We believe that we were placed right where we needed to be, when we needed to be when God placed us in one another’s path. We are vowing that we will become one to another in Jesus’s name. Now, all we’re waiting to do is #SwaintheClarkWay2K23!
