Travel Note
For anyone coming in for the weekend from out of town, thank you! Rye is less than an hour outside New York City by car or train. Westchester County Airport (HPN) is the closest but any of the New York area airports (JFK, Newark, LGA) are good to fly into. From Westchester Airport it's about a 15 minute cab/Uber ride away, from the others it'll be about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. If you decide to stay in NYC for the weekend, there are trains that run every 30 minutes from Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan to Rye and take about 45 minutes. From the Rye train station, the church is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute Uber ride away.
Train
NYC to Rye: The train leaves from Grand Central Station every 30 minutes (more often at peak times). All trains that stop at Rye are on the 'New Haven Line' (the red one). The final destination of trains that stop at Rye can change (e.g. Stamford, New Haven) so just look for Rye on the station list or ask at the ticket kiosk. You will pass Harlem 125th Street, Mount Vernon East, Pelham, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, and Harrison before reaching Rye. It will take ~45 minutes. Rye to NYC: Take train from the side of the track marked "To New York" heading in direction of Manhattan. Grand Central is the final stop on the line. Tickets are $10 each way. The last train from Rye to NYC is around ~1am - check the website for the precise schedule as it can change.
